Qualifications:
Scilla Cullen is a retired UK Government Senior Good Laboratory Practice Inspector. She has had ten years experience of inspections and audits of all types of facilities and studies and has carried out over 250 inspections. She has conducted study audits for the European Medicines Evaluation Agency and Federal Drugs Agency.
Her background is in the registration of agrochemicals as her previous employments were with the Pesticides Safety Directorate of the Department of Food and Rural Affairs. Initially she carried out research into the efficacy of anticoagulant rodenticides with particular emphasis on the development and nature of the genetics of anticoagulant resistance in rodents. She moved into the then voluntary Pesticides Safety Precautions Scheme, later becoming statutory as the Pesticides Safety Division and eventually the Pesticides Safety Directorate. There she evaluated submissions for the registration of agrochemicals and later, after working at the Department of the Environment advising on policy on the effects of agrochemicals in the environment, lead a team to review original and supplementary data submitted to support the continued use of existing agrochemicals.
Her degree was in Zoology and Botany and her career commenced carrying out research into methods of controlling rodents. She has co-authored 11 research publications. |
